Artist Statement
An art major in college, I was always looking for a way to fulfill my need to be creative. Photography has filled that need beautifully, allowing me to use my design skills and artistic talent to create images that fulfill my vision, with a look that is uniquely mine.
I am fascinated by the architecture of flowers, and the majority of my body of work reflects that. I like to get in close and explore the areas you dont see with the casual glance, producing real in your face macro images. I also enjoy interesting still life and landscape photography, striving for something other than the norm.
I picked up my first camera about 6 years ago. Digital photography was a natural choice for me, since it combined my desire for instant gratification with my love of computer graphics. Working in my digital darkroom, I have developed many award winning photographs, as well as creating custom pieces for customers.
There are always new visions to explore through the lens, so my camera is never far from my hand.
